Dr. Jerry V. Teplitz' background is as unique as the techniques and approaches he teaches. He is a graduate of Hunter College and Northwestern University School of Law. He practiced as an attorney for the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency.
At that point, Jerry's career took a dramatic change of direction. Jerry studied and received a Masters and Doctorate Degree in Wholistic Health Sciences. Additionally, he was on the faculty of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Institute for Organization Management for eight years.
Dr. Teplitz has been a field manager for Inscape Publishing Company since 1979 and President of his own speaking and consulting firm since 1974. Jerry conducts seminars in the areas of stress management, leadership and sales development.

Eric Bertolet, OHST, NREMT-I |
Eric is currently the Corporate Safety Manager at TOPCOR Companies. He has over 20 years as a safety professional.
He is a former Ascension Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputy Sheriff and SWAT Medic, a firearms expert, creator and host
of the Safe Nation Radio Broadcast and President/CEO of SafeNation LLC. He is also a safety motivational speaker.

Steve Varnado |
Steve has over 38 years experience in safety beginning at Kaiser Aluminum as a Safety Coordinator and moving up to
Safety Manager for the plant. In the middle of his career he became a salesman for industrial safety equipment for
almost 13 years and then moved back into industry completing his safety career with almost 20 years at Georgia Gulf
Corporation, retiring as Corporate Health and Safety Manager in 2006. Steve is a past Board of Directors member for
the Safety Council of the Louisiana Capital Area and a former Certified Safety Professional. He is presently a
part-time Senior Consultant with Professional Safety Associates, LLC of Denham Springs, LA.

Ronald J. Meyers, CSP, COSS |
Ronnie has practiced in the field of safety for the past fifteen years. Prior to this he taught
high school biology, physical science and environmental science for fourteen years. Ronnie is currently a safety consultant for
Motiva in Covent, LA. He is the past-president and current Delegate of the Greater Baton Rouge ASSE Chapter. He is a Certified
Occupational Safety Specialist (COSS) Instructor and holds the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) designation awarded by the
Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP). Ronnie holds a BA from Louisiana College and a M.Ed. from The University of Louisiana in Lafayette.

Michael Parker, CSP |
Mike is a Certified Safety Professional with over 15 years of industrial experience in Safety, Health, and Security and has
been an active member of ASSE since 1994 at the Local, Regional and National levels. Mike is currently Regional Safety & Training
Manager for NRG Energy Inc. Mike has been awarded local ASSE chapter Safety Professional of the year in 2000 and Regional Safety
Processional of the year in 2005, as well as the Management Practice Specialty Safety Professional of the year for 2007.

Sarah Taylor, R.N. |
Sarah is the administrator of Gulf Coast Occupational Medicine, Inc., one of areas
the leading providers of occupational medicine, industrial testing and injury care. Sarah is a registered nurse
with 18 years of experience in occupational medicine and a special interest in
physiological responses to environmental toxins and substance abuse. She has presented many health
and safety related topics at Associated Builders & Contractors, local Chemical and Petroleum facilities and
for the Safety Council of Louisiana Capital Area.

Jeff Simmerman, CIPS |
Jeff , a retired U.S. Coast Guard Lieutenant Commander, is the homeland security risk management and emergency response practice leader
for Environmental Resources Management (ERM) in Baton Rouge. He has 22 years of federal law enforcement and incident command experience
prior to retirement from Coast Guard service. As a consultant, Jeff has conducted over 300 security vulnerability assessments, incident
drills and emergency exercises for clients. In the U.S. Coast Guard, He was also one of the charter members of the U.S. Attorney General’s
Counter Terrorism Task Force established by the Middle District of Louisiana just after the 9/11 terrorist attacks, and was a national
port security planner for the 1996 Olympic Games.

Lisa Oubre has worked in Human Resources in the construction industry for over 20 years. Her experience has been diverse from recruiting,
training, and retention to workers compensation and health care benefits. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience regarding employee
management.

Keith is a former Trooper with the Louisiana State Police for 8 years and a retired U.S. Marshall with 20 years experience
(UN dignitary and diplomatic VIP protection).

Alex Novas |
Alex is a Compliance Assistance Specialist (CAS) with the U.S. Department of Labor, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Baton Rouge Area Office. Since 2007, he has administered the Strategic Partnership program and the Alliance cooperative program, while also working in support of the Voluntary Protection Program. In addition, he travels throughout the state of Louisiana providing advice, education and training to businesses, labor organizations and other associations to encourage voluntary compliance with OSHA’s safety and health standards. Alex has over 15 years experience with OSHA having also served as a Compliance Officer and Assistant Area Director.

John Voinche' |
A former news reporter, who covered such disasters as the West Hackberry salt dome oil fire, the Shell/Norco explosion and the Livingston train derailment, John Voinche' is now Vice-President & Chief Operating Officer for The Roco Corporation in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. As a 23-year veteran of broadcasting, John has served as a field reporter, anchor, producer and sales manager for a Baton Rouge television station. His experience gives him the expertise to assist industry in effectively dealing with the news media...creating a positive image even in a crisis situation.

Phil Rainier |
Phil is an award-winning Healthline Reporter and anchorman for
Channel 9, WAFB news. He holds a degree in Mass Communications from Purdue University. Mr. Rainier was awarded the Scripps-Howard
Excellence in Journalism Award along with the Louisiana State Medical Society Award of Excellence in Medical Journalism and
the Louisiana State Medical Society Award for Meritorious Medical Reporting. He has been honored for his contributions to
increasing awareness of mental health issues by the Mental Health Association in Louisiana.

Maria W. Adams, P.T., C.B.E.S. |
Ms. Adams is a native of Louisiana and received her degree in Physical Therapy
from Louisiana State University Medical Center in 1980. She has been the owner
of her own private practice, Professional Therapy Services, located in Harvey,
Louisiana since 1985. In 1996, she joined the administration team of Industrial
Safety and Rehabilitation Institute where she serves as Vice President of Clinic
Affiliations and Senior Faulty member of the WorkSaverSM and CBES® Credentialing Courses. Ms. Adams has numerous years of experience in the clinic working with neuromuscularskeletal disorders. She specializes in ergonomics program development, ergonomic consulting, evaluations of office and field - both onshore and offshore environments, conditioning programs for employees, physical demand validations and functional testing for new and injured workers. Ms. Adams is a member of the American and Louisiana Physical Therapy Associations.

spent as a Channel Partner Manager/Territory Manager for ZOLL Medical.

Jeffrey Meyers, LEM |
Jeffrey (Jeff) Meyers is a native of Baton Rouge, La. He received the degree of Civil Engineering from Louisiana State University in 1979. His career includes experience in the industrial sector in surface lignite mining/power generation and civil engineering consulting. Mr. Meyers is presently employed with the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality (DEQ). He began his career with the LDEQ as a permit writer in the Hazardous Wastes/RCRA Program. Several years later, he changed duties to responding for the agency as a hazardous materials emergency responder and instructor. Working cooperatively with various state and federal agencies on many environmental issues, Mr. Meyers has responded statewide as a primary responder, supervisor, manager, and is now the Division Administrator for the Emergency and Radiological Services Division. He also has the duties of state Radiation Protection Director.

Dorinda Folse |
Dorinda Folse currently serves as the Area Director in OSHA's Baton
Rouge Area Office. She is a native of Alabama and a 1986 graduate of the
University of Southern Mississippi. She began working as an Industrial Hygienist
Compliance Officer for OSHA in 1991. She served as the office's Compliance
Assistance Specialist from 2003 until February of 2007 and the Assistant Area
Director until March 2008 when she took over as Area Director.

Ron is a principle in Comprehensive Occupational Resources. He has practiced exclusively occupational medicine for greater than 10 years working throughout the southeast United States. He has been actively involved in medical surveillance program development in the petrochemical, nuclear, governmental, agriculture and mining industries.

Ron Bayless |
Ron Bayless brings both an academic background and extensive “real world” experience to workplace change efforts (US and international). On the academic side, he has an undergraduate degree in psychology (with a minor in education) and a master’s degree in Adult Learning / Organizational Development (and most recently, he received a diploma from a leading coach training institute). Where the workplace is concerned, he has both “blue collar” and “white collar” experience (as laborer, supervisor, manager, and company owner). A lifelong learner, he is fascinated by what it means to be
human. Above all, he seeks to make the world a better place to live and work and he believes in his heart of hearts that work can be fun, rewarding, and that it can make a positive difference in the world. He knows that "simple" isn't the same as "easy" and that all of us need help in seeing what we're blind to.

Ken has over 28 years experience in the Industrial Safety Field. He is currently
Regional Sales Manager for Protective Industrial Products. He has previously worked with
Grainger, Wilson Supply, Dalloz Safety, and Ansell Protective Products. He holds an Associates
Degree in Applied Science and a Bachelors and a Masters Degree in Business.

Robert Rhodes Ph.D. |
Dr. Rhodes has been with the Council for Accreditation in Occupational Hearing Conservation (CAPHC) for 30 years and a University Professor at the University of Southern Mississippi for 26 years (Speech & Hearing Science). He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh and has also served as a consultant to industry for several years.
